The California Miracle pepper variety was bred overseas almost 100 years ago, at least, information about it has existed since 1928. During this time, variations of the variety appeared, differing mainly in the color of the fruits. Red, yellow, orange and even black varieties of the California miracle are known. They all have a similar shape and almost the same consumer characteristics. Even against the background of dozens of new varieties and hybrids created annually, this pepper does not lose ground, it is grown in various countries with a climate similar to Russian or North American.
This pepper was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation in 1999, the region of official admission is only Nizhnevolzhsky. Despite this limitation, the California miracle is planted almost everywhere: at the latitudes of Moscow and further south in unprotected soil, to the north - in greenhouses.

It is possible to grow a California miracle in the Lower Volga region recommended for it directly from seeds, bypassing the seedling stage. However, at the same time, the harvest will be received late, and its total amount, due to the close arrival of autumn, will be very small. Therefore, like almost all varieties of pepper, it is grown through seedlings.
Seeds are sown in cups early, but now there is a theory that this should not be done in winter, it is quite possible to sow in early March, until the middle of the month. Of course, this depends on the characteristics of the region. In any case, growing seedlings in a common box is unproductive: like all peppers, it is hard to transfer a transplant. His seedlings do not grow very small, so for each bush they take at least half-liter cups.
